1930 Hercules Popular Model OA ’21” Lady’s Tourer
My friend Tony C restored this charming little Hercules for his wife many years ago. She’s now given up cycling, so he sold it to me for my partner to use. They are both around the same height. I put on a Terry’s saddle for extra comfort, but otherwise it’s ready for her. She’s a bit fussy about riding vintage bicycles. She doesn’t like riding ‘oily rags’ as I do, which is a typical ‘Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus’ type of thing. So a pretty bike like this is just right.
The nickel handlebars are in superb condition, and the functional dynamo-powered lights are an attractive style.
The Hercules front badges have a habit of fading in their centres.
