1958 Hercules Balmoral Custom
This customized Hercules Gents bike was built by Gavin Kirk.
The wide handlebars were cut from an abandoned wheelchair.
Wheels are 26″ 144-spoked, imported from America.
The mudguards were specially fabricated from sheet metal.
It has all been powder coated in candy blue and finished off with chrome parts, Brooks saddle, period front light, and coaster brake.
The wide bars take a bit of getting used to and, with the coaster brake, it’s quite a similar ride to my German Hercules.
